Confidence Programme

Q. Will the Confidence video solve my child’s bullying problem?

Many bullies will avoid picking on confident people. It will definitely give them confidence to use anti-bullying strategies effectively. It’s the strategies that will solve the problem. You will need to figure out the right strategy for the right situation, and the right bully. Contact me if you need help with this.

Q. If your techniques are so good, why isn’t everyone using them?

At least 2 UK charities disapprove of what I do because “It’s not the child’s fault they are being bullied so they shouldn’t have to sort it out for themselves.” Mainstream anti bullying techniques mostly revolve around intervention. i.e. “It’s an adults duty to step in and solve the bullying problem for the child.” I don’t like that approach. I think it is best to teach children how to prevent themselves from being bullied. Then they can prevent  future problems, learn valuable life skills and will be able to become very capable and independent.

Q. Can adults benefit from the Confidence video?

Absolutely. The video is pitched at Parents working with their children but anyone can gain massive confidence by using the Confidence video. I use the same exercises with    both adults and children and they are equally effective with both.

Q. If my child doesn’t gain any confidence can I have a refund?

If you have truly used all of the exercises, followed all of my instructions, given it your best shot and still it has made no difference – I will be very surprised and yes, you can have a refund.

Face to Face Training

Q. Where does the training take place?

I usually travel to my clients and work in their homes. Sometimes they travel to me in Glasgow or we meet in another location if they request it (like a hotel meeting room).

Q. How long does the training take?

I allocate a full day. Five to six hours actual training time is normal but I will keep going for as long as it takes. We only stop when you and your child are completely satisfied that they have all the tools and skills to completely stop the bullying.

Q. Is one day really enough?

Yes, about 80% of the time the children solve the bullying problem completely after one day’s training. Sometimes a second day is needed.

Q. Do you train adults?

Yes. Whether it is for workplace bullying, family issues, problem neighbours or any other types of bullying or abuse.

Q. Can other people sit in on the session?

Yes, I’m happy with that. I normally insist on at least one parent joining in. It makes sense to train the whole family, so there is no extra charge for family members. No extra charge for cheaper ones either (even for adult training). If you want a group of friends all to be trained together I’ll offer a group discount.

Q. Why do you work with children being bullied instead of the bullies?

Because the bullies don’t want help, usually. My service is set up to help families when nothing else has worked. If no one else can change the bully’s behaviour then it’s up to your child to do it. I’ll show them how.

Q. Do you ever work with the bullies?

Yes, when the bully’s parents want me to help change their child’s behaviour.

Q. What if I’m not sure if my (my child’s) situation counts as bullying?

Bullying is subjective, so if you feel that you are being bullied – then you are. I will take your situation seriously even if you think it may be trivial.

Q. How much does face to face training cost?

Within the UK I charge £495 plus travel for a day’s training. I will ask for a deposit to be paid at the time of booking which will cover my travel expenses and the rest is payable at the start of the session.

Q. I can’t afford your service but I really need your help. What can I do?

If you allow me to record the session I may offer you a substantial discount.

Q. What if I need to cancel?

With 7 days notice I will refund the total amount you have paid less any travel costs I have already incurred.

Telephone Consultations

Q. How long in advance do I need to book a telephone consultation?

2 weeks is usually fine, depending on how busy I am.

Q. How long do the telephone consultations last?

1 hour at a time.

Q. How many telephone sessions will I need?

It depends on your situation. If you only want general pointers then 1 may well be enough. 3 sessions would give you thorough training and 5 would give you thorough   training with follow up contingency training and feedback.

Q. How much do telephone consultations cost?

£39 for 1 session, £99 for 3 sessions, £149 for 5 session -payable at the time of booking. Also the calls go on your phone bill, as you call me.

Q. What it I need to cancel our appointment?

If you give me 48 hours notice, then I will give a full refund or we can reschedule. With less than 48 hours notice – no refund.
